BCI Group is the result of the Banque pour le Commerce et l'Industrie (BCI) West African development strategy. Its current CEO, Isselmou Tajidine, founded it in 1999 in partnership with shareholders from Mauritania, France and the Netherlands.

Today it plays a significant regional part in Mauritania, Mali, Guinea and Senegal.

The group employs around 500 collaborators (all of them from west Africa), in a network of 34 agencies.
